Cianjur, – Pemilihan Kepala Daerah (Pilkada) serentak 2020, hanya tinggal menghitung hari. Yang mana untuk di Kabupaten Cianjur sendiri, ada empat pasangan calon Bupati dan wakil bupati.

Siapapun bebas menentukan pilihan untuk memimpin Cianjur 5 tahun kedepan. Dalam hal ini, masyarakat Cianjut tentunya harus bisa menilai siapa yang pantas dan layak dijadikan orang No.1 di Cianjur nanti.

Saat ditemui awak media, Kamis (22/10), Ketua Dewan Pimpinan Cabang Persatuan Wartawan Republik Indonesia (DPC PWRI) Kabupaten Cianjur, Asep Ridwan, mengatakan bahwa DPC PWRI Kabupaten Cianjur tidak ikut berpolitik. Artinya setiap anggota bebas menentukan pilihannya masing-masing, hal itu dilakukan semata karena tidak ingin mengintervensi anggotanya.

“Setiap manusia pasti punya penilaian masing-masing terhadap orang lain. Nah, dalam hal ini saya selaku Ketua DPC PWRI Kabupaten Cianjur memberikan kebebasan kepada anggota saya dalam menentukan pilihannya,” kata Asep.

Sebagai profesi yang independen, lanjut Asep, tentunya kita harus menjadi bagian dari pelaksanaan berlangsungnya Pilkada serentak ini, salah satunya adalah melakukan pengawasan guna meminimalisir adanya kecurangan.

“Sebagai kontrol sosial kita harus memantau situasi di lapangan, dan menuangkannya dalam bentuk pemberitaan yang tidak bersifat provokatif apalagi HOAX. Maka dari itu, saya memberikan kebebasan kepada setiap anggota DPC Kabupaten Cianjur supaya tidak ikut-ikutan berpolitik,” ujarnya.

Asep menambahkan, masyarakat harus bijak dalam menentukan pilihan, artinya tidak mudah termakan isu sehingga pada akhirnya terjadi kekeliruan yang berdampak pada kelancaran berlangsungnya Pilkada ini.

“Saya yakin, masyarakat di Kabupaten Cianjur ini sudah pintar, harus bagaimana dan apa yang harus dilakukan. Karena pada prinsipnya siapapun pasti ingin mengembangkan dan membangun daerahnya masing-masing,” tambahnya.

Terakhir, Asep juga menyampaikan ungkapan keprihatinannya terhadap rekan-rekan media, yang akhir-akhir ini menjadi korban intimidasi oknum-oknum yang tidak bertanggung jawab.

“Dalam melaksanakan tugasnya, wartawan mendapat perlindungan yang tertuang dalam Undang-undang Nomor 40 tentang pers,” tandasnya. [wastukancana]
