Kota Bandung – Delapan petani milenial ternak puyuh dikirim oleh Pemprov Jabar untuk mengikuti program magang di Slamet Quail Farm (SQF) di Kabupaten Sukabumi selama tujuh hari.
Program magang ini menjadi syarat utama yang harus dipenuhi bagi petani milenial ternak puyuh.
Menurut Kepala Dinas Ketahanan Pangan dan Peternakan (DKPP) Provinsi Jabar Jafar Ismail, dengan program magang, petani milenial diharapkan mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan, sebelum beternak.
“Magang tahap pertama diikuti delapan peserta dari 33 yang lolos seleksi untuk komoditi burung puyuh. Selanjutnya tahap berikutnya dilaksanakan sesuai dengan kesiapan para calon petani milenial,” kata Jafar, Jumat (21/5/2021), dikutip dari laman resmi Pemprov Jabar
Jafar mengatakan bahwa magang ini merupakan syarat utama yang harus dilakukan oleh para petani milenial yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan.
Selain meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan, program magang ini diharapkan dapat mendorong petani milenial untuk mandiri dan profesional
“Setelah magang para calon petani milenial mulai melakukan usaha peternakan mandiri yang didukung permodalan melalui kredit perbankan,” ucap Jafar.
Pemda Provinsi Jabar menggagas Petani Milenial Juara untuk menarik minat generasi milenial membawa perubahan pada sektor pertanian masa depan.
Petani Milenial Juara pun bertujuan menumbuh kembangkan kewirausahaan muda pertanian di Jabar.
Program ini tidak hanya mencakup bidang pertanian, tapi termasuk peternakan, perikanan, dan perkebunan.
Di sektor peternakan diharapkan program tersebut diharapkan dapat berkontribusi pada peningkatan konsumsi protein hewani. (Bunisora)
